EVENT: Tackling Mental Health In The Workplace
Every few months, we at Public get together to discuss an important topic as part of our Public Talks series. As May is Mental Health Awareness month, what better time to gather a few great minds to discuss the topic of mental health awareness?
As a societal concern, awareness about the importance of mental health in general has grown immensely over the last few years. And we’ve noticed lately that businesses are beginning to realize that mental health is a workplace concern, too. While businesses are traditionally good at solving problems there is still considerable work yet to be done in this field, so we’re going to sit down and talk openly with some experts about how we can work together to solve these important issues.
Some of the topics we’ll tackle include:
What does a fully mental-health supported workplace look like?
What are the barriers to having a workplace supporting mental health?
What still needs to change?
On May 7th, join the CMHA’s Jordan Friesen, CivicAction’s Linda Weichel, League’s Andrew Dubowec, and Gap Inc.’s Mary Bolan, as we discuss how progressive businesses are tackling the thorny issue of mental health in the workplace, and why some brands are even leaning into the issue.
