Meet the Publican: Chris
We already knew Chris was an amazing designer, but there’s so much more to him that we needed to learn. Does he like football? Has he ever had stitches? How about a broken bone? We sat down with him to get the important facts.
1. What’s something weird about you?
I’ve never had a bloody nose, broken anything, or had stitches. I’m pretty reckless too so I find it pretty weird.
2. What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
My Grandpa didn’t have the best english but he was absolutely relentless in helping everyone around him in every way possible. I’ve extracted some advice from him that is: You don’t always need to say a lot, but you can always do more.
3. Where is your favourite place?
Football pitch, anytime anywhere. Not the hand egg one either, the one with your feet.
4. What social impact issue means a lot to you?
Inclusivity is a big one. Everything that has ever been created—whether it be something as simple as a spoon or as immense as an entire city—is easily on its umpteenth iteration by now; the fact that we’re still designing in manners, or resting on standards that exclude is not acceptable.
5. What’s your favourite thing about working at PUBLIC?
Similar answer to the issue Q: There’s an encouragement/confidence boost that comes with knowing you’re surrounded by proactive people that expect curiosity and critical thinking.
