Meet the Publican: Ian
This week on the yellow couch… we’ve got Ian, Public’s new Client Services summer intern! We like to get to know our interns really well, from their social impact passions to how they get a good night’s sleep. So we got Ian to sit down and share all those details with us in this week’s Meet The Publican.
1. What’s something weird about you?
I hate when I have to go to sleep in a room without a fan. I’ve always slept with a fan on in my room and I’ve grown pretty attached to it. Airflow in a room is a big deal for me.
2. Where is your favourite place?
Edinburgh! When I was there it felt like the perfect mix between a bustling city and a small community. There was always something going on but you could always find your own space.
3. What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
A high school teacher of mine, in my year book, wrote that I “had the ability to work for more than just myself, but for my community and my world.” I think that really struck a chord with me and helped guide me into this line of work.
4. What social impact issue means a lot to you?
Supply chain sustainability. I really think this is a key component of global equality because it impacts the environment, individuals, and communities.
5. What’s your favourite thing about working at PUBLIC?
I love the people and the chance to do meaningful work but… for me it’s probably the stream of dogs who visit the office.
