When we began this campaign, cosmetic testing was legal in many countries around the world, including Canada. The Body Shop wanted to fight to ban animal testing by activating a new generation of conscious consumers.

Tap into the love Canadians have for their pets.
People love their pets. And of course, those very pets would be horrified to know their animal kingdom friends were used for testing. So we developed the Sign the PETition campaign for people to be Forever Against Animal Testing on behalf of their pets.
Our collective call for change received over 1 million signatures in Canada (over 8 million worldwide), and the Body Shop saw a 17% increase in sales during the in-store campaign activation period. The campaign was then used in the U.S., Australia and beyond. Best of all, in 2023 animal testing was officially banned in Canada.
