The Challenge

To increase the number of worldwide volunteer hours for Starbucks employees from 250,000 to 1,000,000 by 2015.


The Approach

We developed a corporate citizenship strategy and created a fun volunteerism platform that tapped into employee skills and talents and gave them easy ways to get started and engage customers. This platform was rolled out to 50 countries and we accomplished the goal a year ahead of target.


The Impact

Starbucks achieved their 1,000,000-hour goal in 2014 – a year earlier than planned.
